Presbury is rooted and located in the heart of Edgewood, a diverse and vibrant community in Harford County. We love our community and our ministry is joyfully centered around serving our neighbors.
Presbury's local Methodist roots can be traced all the way back to 1720, with the construction of the Presbury Methodist Meeting House located on what is now Aberdeen Proving Ground. It was a frequent preaching spot for Francis Asbury, the first bishop of American Methodism who was integral to the formation of the denomination.
Presbury's current building dates back 50 years to 1968, the same year of the formation of The United Methodist Church denomination.
Presbury is blessed to be a part the Mission Central Parish.
The Mission Central Parish is a community of seven United Methodist Churches in Harford County and Baltimore County, MD, working together to better serve our communities and make disciples of Jesus Christ. The Parish is led by two pastors, Rev. Dr. Karin Walker and Rev. Danny Breidenbaugh. There is also a contingent of retired pastors and lay speakers who assist in leading worship at many of our churches.
Our Parish is focused on reaching out in love and service as we strive to:
SERVE Expand community engagement and impact.
LEAD Increase mission to reach more of the least, the
last, and the lost.
HOPE Empower people to move into deeper
relationship with Christ.
